Folding origami models for children has become an annual Halloween tradition in my home. Sometime around July or August my husband, John, my mother in law, Yvonne, and I begin to fold the model we have selected for a particular year. Our goal is to have about 150 by the middle of October. Action models are what children seem to enjoy the most, even if the theme is not particularly “Halloweenish”.
This year we started folding somewhat late, but we are almost ready. Our choice was a flapping dove created by Gay Merrill Gross. Diagrams can be found in her book Zoogami, published by Barnes and Noble. They can also be found at Dorothy Engleman /Gilad Aharoni’s page: Flapping Dove by Gay Merrill Gross
