I’m Leyla Torres and I welcome you to this blog where I write about origami, art and topics of personal interest.
My love for origami lay dormant since childhood until one cold December night of 1988 in New York City. My husband and I strolled by an enormous Christmas tree, which was in the office of Japan Airlines on fifth avenue. The tree was four times as tall as as I am. It rotated slowly and was filled with origami models. It have been decorated by Michael Shall. My childhood interest for folding paper re-ignited right there and then. I have been an origami enthusiast ever since. It has been a great source of joy and a way to make friends all over the world.
In addition to practicing origami, I’m a writer and illustrator. I invite you to visit LeylaTorres.com for more information about my work.
