I’ve been teaching an origami class to a group of ten-year-olds at Fisher Elementary School in Arlington, Vermont. With Halloween just around the corner, I wanted to teach them an easy-to-fold action model appropriate for the season. I eventually found diagrams for a simple origami Dracula created by Robyn Glynn of the UK.
For Robyn’s model we used paper that was red on one side and white on the other. We also took the liberty of adding black to color the eyes and hair. When the sides of the little vampire face are pinched the mouth opens and closes, threatening to bite us with pointy fangs! ARGHHH!
For those who have more experience, Robin has also created and drawn diagrams for a more complex origami Dracula.
This is my interpretation of the second, more complex Dracula model. It is not an action model, and it does take more time to fold. But the folding process is pleasant and several of the folds are both surprising, and fascinating.

Oh Leyla, that is a fantastic origami animation! What fun to read and look at your post on origami dracula!
