My friend Hans Dybkjær, from Denmark, sent me diagrams for folding another lovely inflatable chick, created by Simon Andersen. Simon’s chick seems to have hatched from the eggs laid by my inflatable hen! While the folding processes are different between the two models, the results are quite similar.
I invite you to visit Hans Dybkjær’s home page. The site is in Danish, but there are pictures of some very interesting origami work and diagrams for many models. Diagrams for this inflatable chick* are found on his site.
*Tips to give individual expression to each chick as you follow Hans’ diagrams.
- In Step 2: vary the length of the mountain fold a little bit.
- In Step 10: fold the base at different angles.
- Head: Round the head by folding the front corner inward.
