This week I created a flower. It was made from Froebel’s basic form mentioned in my previous blog entry. For this model I used onion skin paper colored on both sides. This technique for decorating paper has also been described in an earlier post.
Here are photographs of the step folds for making the model. Folding experience is assumed, but even someone with just a little experience –along with imagination and patience, should be able to successfully fold the flower. The last step -an outside-reverse fold on either side of the petal, is a little tricky. Remain calm and you won’t tear the paper. My advice is to experiment with different papers as each hears the whispers of our hands in a different way.

Have been folding this flower using a soft, cloth-like washi from Japan.
Can you show a side and a bottom view of this fold?
Thanks.
