In my enthusiasm for hens, I have been on a quest to design my own and I’m happy with this initial attempt. The hen and her chicks are folded using the water bomb base with the chick being a variation on one created by Aldo Putignano. My contribution to Aldo Putignano’s design is that I’ve made beak a different color. I designed the hen having been inspired by a Shoko Aoyagi’s penguin. For this model I used onion skin paper to which I applied color on both sides.

wow,
where r the diagrams?
Hi Noah,
There are no diagrams for the hen yet. I will be teaching it at the coming origamiUSA convention in New York in June.
Diagrams for the basic chick (no duo color) are in a book published by OrigamiUSA called “The Best of Annual Collections” page 113.
