I have just returned from the origami convention in NYC, but my soul continues to splash about in that ocean of paper with the bubbling energy of having met with such an enthusiastic group of paper folders.
When Tricia Tait went to an origami convention in Brazil, she learned to make the box in the photograph. It is made with a recyclable material. It could be used for many purposes, but for the paper folders it is a perfect container to carry and protect small models.
Gay Merrill Gross showed it to me with great enthusiasm as soon as I walked into the exhibition hall of the convention. Later, Tricia Tait gave me one and showed me how to make it.
This plastic jewel is a brilliant example of the ingenuity of the Brazilian paper folders, and learning how to make it would’ve been enough for me to be satisfied of having attended the NYC convention. Needless to say, there were million things that I enjoyed at the convention, but this small box is my (pentagonal) star of 2007.

To the readers who don’t know exactly what is being re-used here to make this container, I suggest they observe the photo carefully and try to guess. In a few days I will post how to make this plastic container.
I would love to find out who created it to give him or her proper credit here.

I have seen this in Italy – it’s so cool! It’s made from plastic soda bottles. I tried to use one of the American bottles, but with no success. I hope you will tell us soon as to which plastic bottle this is made from.
